Specializations: Beginning Levels 1-3, Infants/ Toddlers, and Adults I am excited to continue teaching swimming at CCHC with their amazing aquatics program. I grew up in Wisconsin and spent my summers swimming in lakes and my winters swimming at the high school pool. I also lived in Minnesota for 10 years before moving to Montana in 2000. I have been teaching swimming at YMCAs, YWCAs, local recreational programs, year-round camps, and health clubs since the early 80s; including teaching water safety, all levels of swim lessons (infant-adult), and lifeguard training. I’ve been teaching at CCHC for over five years. I specialize in the beginning Levels 1-3, infants, toddlers, and adults who want to become more proficient with their strokes. I look forward to meeting you in the pool someday.

Specializations: Infant/Toddler, Preschool Level 1 Aquatics, and Special Needs I have been a part of the Capital City Aquatics team since 2021. I like to spend my time in the water with our youngest swimmers, specializing in Infant/Toddler and Preschool Level 1 Aquatics. I also enjoy working individually with those who have special needs. I was born and raised in Idaho Falls where I swam competitively throughout my childhood before moving to Helena to attend Carroll College. After graduating, I taught Special Education in the Helena Schools for 6 years before resigning to stay at home with my own young children. I currently work part time as the Children's Ministry Director at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church. I have found that with three young children at home, teaching swim lessons is what I like to do for fun! I enjoy putting my two passions of teaching and swimming together to instruct swimmers!

Specializations: All Levels I grew up in a swimming family and was the captain of the high school swim team. I started teaching swimming and working as an open water beach front lifeguard senior year of high school and continued working and teaching in fitness facilities through 2020. I have 30 years of experience teaching all levels of children in private lessons, small groups, and swim teams. I have taught swim instruction to ages 6 months to 86 years. I'm highly skilled and proficient at specializing swim workouts for private one-on-one adult students. Some I have taught were those that have a fear of water and can’t swim at all to others who want to work through injury or simply perfect their stroke.

Competitive Swimmer

Specializations: Level 1 and Level 3-6 Hello! My name is Morgan May, I am currently at Helena High School. I love working in my church nursery and babysitting, and I have been swimming ever since I was a baby. I have swum competitively with swim team for over 8 years and swim for the HHS and Lions swim teams. Throughout my years of swim team, I have achieved times to compete at multiple state level meets and placed in the Top 8. I enjoy mentoring newer members of my swim team, but my favorite part of teaching so far is watching all the kiddos improve every time they come to lessons! I am very excited to see your little ones in the pool!

Karen Repine

Water Safety Instructor

Specializations: Beginner Levels Hi, everybody! My name is Karen Repine. I grew up with a swimming pool in my backyard. I competitively swam for six years and assisted/taught swimming lessons for 11 years. I taught swimming lessons and lifeguarded in pools and at a local lake in my hometown in Massachusetts. I took a break from teaching swimming lessons when I went to college and was an engineer for a "few" years. I moved to Helena two years ago from Libby, Montana. I always wanted to teach swimming lessons again, and luckily there was an opening at CCHC. I am a mom of two boys who love to be in and around the water. With so many lakes and rivers around Helena, I believe it is important to know how to swim. I am excited to join the aquatics team at CCHC and look forward to teaching swimming lessons.

Hello my name is Vanessa. I have always had a love for the water and working with kids. In high school, I was a swim teacher and a member of the swim team at Helena High School. I later attended Montana State University in Bozeman and worked as a swim instructor at the Ridge Athletic Club—a job I absolutely loved, especially the private lessons. After starting my own family, I ran an in-home daycare, combining my passion for childcare with my experience in teaching. For the last seven years, I have been back in the professional world but have missed working with little kids and being in the water. I love to laugh, have fun which helps create a positive learning environment for kids, all the while teaching an essential life skill. I look forward to getting to know your little ones and helping them gain confidence in the water!!
